Connect Deck: Climate Action Edition
The Connect Deck: Climate Action" is a dynamic and interactive card game tailored to help Climate Resilience Groups explore and express their feelings about environmental issues while fostering a sense of collective efficacy and action. Through a curated set of 100 bilingual question prompts, grouped from light-hearted icebreakers to deep, action-oriented discussions, this activity is designed to deepen understanding and spur meaningful climate action within participants' communities. The game is perfect for groups looking to enhance their engagement in a supportive, structured environment, encouraging each member to contribute to the conversation and to climate solutions.
Steps:
Setup: Arrange a comfortable seating area where all participants can see and hear each other. Place the deck of cards in the center of the group.
Introduction: Introduce the game and explain the rules using the instruction cards. Briefly describe each category of cards and their intended focus, from light-hearted and introductory (Shallow Waters) to more profound and action-oriented (Changing the Currents).
Gameplay:
Players take turns drawing a card from any category. The player reads the question aloud in either English or French.
Each participant, including the reader, shares their thoughts or answers to the prompt. Use a timer to ensure equal speaking time for each participant.
After each round of discussion, the next player draws a card. Continue until the group feels a natural end to the session or all card categories have been adequately explored.
Reflection: At the end of the session, encourage participants to reflect on the discussions and share any new insights or actions they feel inspired to take.
Closure: Wrap up by thanking participants for their openness and contributions. Discuss possible follow-up actions or meetings to build on the ideas generated.

Each session can last from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on group interaction and discussion depth.
